General
The Duston School is a 4-19 mixed, all-through School. We have a separate admissions policies for the Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form. The Duston School welcomes prospective students of all abilities and operates an equal opportunity policy. The school prides itself on the advice and guidance it gives to its prospective students regarding the suitability of courses to meet their need and to help ensure success. All courses have their own specific entry criteria, as stated in our prospectus. All admissions are overseen by the Director of Sixth Form and the Principal. The sixth form accepts all internal students who meet the entry requirements. The PAN for Year 12 (for external students) is 30.

Entry Requirements
N.B. The following should be read in conjunction with the Sixth Form prospectus published annually.
Entry to Sixth Form is subject to achieving a minimum of 5 GCSE's (5 and above) in addition to meeting the individual subject requirements shown in our prospectus. Please see our course guide for more information on all the subjects we offer here at The Duston School Sixth Form.
Oversubscription Criteria for external students
All children whose Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan names the school will be admitted before any other places are allocated.
In the event that the school receives more applications than the number of places it has available, places will be given to those children who meet the entry criteria stated above in the order set out below.
1. LAC - Children in public care (looked after children) or previously in public care.
2. Children of a member of staff.
3. Children with siblings at TDS.
4. All other pupils.
The school reserves the right to cancel a course if there is insufficient demand.
Other Information
Distance Tiebreaker – If the admission number is exceeded within criterion, priority will be given to those who live closest to the Duston School.
Appeals
If you are not offered a place at our school then you have the right to appeal to an independent panel.
